Revealed!..Family Members Conspired with Rape Victim to Feed Day Old Child to Family Dog



Police in Katsina state have nabbed 15 year old girl, Wosila Halilu, her mother, Faiza Umar, 30, and three stepbrothers Muhammad Bello, 45; Musa Bello, 35; Umar Bello, 27, for feeding her one-day old baby which was conceived after she was raped, to their family dog at Saika village in Batsari Local Government Area in the state.

Police investigations disclosed that Wosilat claimed she was raped by a 27 year old farmer identified as Musa Garba last year. She revealed that she and family members conspired to get rid of the child out of shame it was conceived out of wedlock. They resolved to feed her day old baby to their family dog.

Reports has it that their village chief reported the matter to the police. The alleged rapist Mr Garba was also arrested and they were all arraigned before the Katsina state Magistrate court yesterday on a three count charge of culpable homicide, criminal conspiracy and rape.

The Chief Magistrate, Nura El-Ladan, after listening to the case, instructed the police to conduct further investigation and also ordered all the suspects be remanded in police custody until the next hearing of the case which is August 8th.
