TMZ reports that Canadian pop star Justin Beiber got a $5 million offer to perform at a Republican event during the GOP Convention, but turned it down after his manager considered quitting and LeBron Jamesurged him to reject it.
Details of the contract states that the $5 million which was contributed by GOP donors, will be paid upfront before Justin's arrival and other production expenses will equally be taken care of by the the GOP donors. The said amount represents the biggest single daypay ever for any artist, And Justin is seriously considering the offer.
Justin's manager, Scooter, advised him to put up Black Lives Matter banners at the venue if he eventually agree to perform, but reports said the GOP donors rejected
the offer to put up such banner but rather preferred an "All Lives Matter" banner.
Scooter, who is a strong supporter for Hillary Clinton later told Justin do the show if he so wishes, but he will cease to represent the singer afterwards, out of his own principles. He feels Beiber will be used as a tool to achieve political gains.
In another twist, LeBron James himself was also going to attend an event in Cleveland, to welcome the GOP without taking a political stand. Sources revealed that Justin's people got in touch with LeBron's people, and they were told LeBron would actually not be in Cleveland for the convention and urged Justin not to go as well.
On top of all that, we're told Justin's band, comprised entirely of African-Americans, did not want to do the show.
In the end, Justin turned down the offer.
