Al-Shabab Militants Attacks Somalia CID Headquarters




Somalia’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters in Mogadishu has been reportedly attacked when a car laden with explosives rammed into the gates of the building.

According to reports, gunmen were said to have stormed the building and two loud explosions were heard. The dreaded Somalia Al-Shabaab is said to have claimed responsibility for the attack. 

Al-Shabaab’s military operations spokesman, Abdiasis Abu Musabold, told Reuters, “a fighter rammed a suicide car bomb into CID then other armed fighters stormed inside. We are now fighting inside the CID building.“
